Razors from ClassicShaving.com?

The razors from Classic Shaving are Parker razors. They receive really mixed reviews, and tend to suffer from quality control issues.

If they were labeled Parker, they wouldn't sell as well. Parker has a shoddy reputation.

Considering you can get a Merkur Classic for the same price, there is no way I'd buy a Parker from Classic Shaving.

I've bought a few razors from Classic Shaving, but I've always purchased Merkurs. I've had no problems at all with their Merkurs, but I know Parkers have a rep. of not being made very well. I'd stick with the Merkurs if I were you.

I ordered a starter kit from Classic Shaving which included a Parker 90. It shaves ok, but is a little awkward to use. The handle is a bit too long and makes the razor feel out of balance in my hand.

I bought the "FAVORITE" out of curiousity. I don't remember it's Parker model number.
It is well made and a mild shaver similar to an SS. The handle is long and it is comparatively hefty. The finish is very nice. The knurling is exact. The mechanics are smooth and consistant. The chrome looks good.
Based on my experience I would recommend it as a good economical starter.
I know it's popular to trash Parker but I can't complain about this razor.

You got lucky, and got one of the good ones. Another newbie might not get so lucky, and get an awful one.

I can think of no good reason why a newbie should be willing to take that chance when other superior razors are available at the same/ similar price point.
