Razorock Lupo .95 versus WR1 Wolfman

Geometry-wise indeed it seems
that the Lupo razor head is a spot on
copy of the WR1 razor head.
Just general geometry-wise.
Still...
I’m not so sure if they will do
make any difference in case of accidental drop ,but there are
at least two places that Lupo seems
to be more robustly made than the WR1:

A ) The short bars of the Lupo razors have five bridges attaching to
the baseplate, while the WR1 has just
two bridges suspending the long bars.Seems that the Lupo has less chances of bar deformation in case of drop.

B ) The underside of the WR1 cap
is machined like a channel ,which
has a 90 degrees side towards each of the inclined “ vice—like” clamping surfaces of the cap .From the pics one can see that there’s just a strip of very thin
metal connecting the lips of the cap
with the rest of the “dome” ,exactly
at the 90 deg. angles of the channeled
cap’s underside.
In case of drop ,there’s definitely a
higher chance for the WR1 cap to
bend or even break ,if the razor
will impact the floor cap first .

Other than that ,
aesthetically some people
( myself included) do find
the nicely curved “ from baseplate to bars” design more appealing than the
“edgy“ one of the WR1.

Fact remains that the Lupo is
a finely made razor.
And indeed is providing a
quite similar shaving experience,
with the so called “hi- end“ ones.
For a fraction of their price.

@Bad Badger
Great review and comparison ,BTW!

More Deep Thoughts than Jack Handy
Revisiting this thread after a time. I have the Lupo .95 in SB and OC and I have a Wolfman WR1 in SB gap .74. I just put my name back on the Wolfman list with the intention of purchasing a WR1 head in OC .74.

Here is what I think:

The Wolfman .74 SB beats the Lupo .95 (both variants) in efficiency. There is more blade feel on the Wolfman, but not so much so that it's uncomfortable...at least, not for me. That having been said, I would never get rid of my Lupo .95 razors. For the money, they're pretty close to the Wolfman WR1 .74. But the WR1 does edge them out. So...for what it's worth...that's my opinion having shaved with all of them many times.

Interesting assessment. Would you say then, that a WR1 0.67 is a closer match in terms of blade feel with the 0.95 Lupo?
