What's new

Rattray's?

I enjoy the Hal O' the Wynd. I have not tried there other blends yet, but I do see a lot of them come up on Pipe of the day.

Thanks fellas, for the recommendations!

Red Rapperee & Marlin Flake are my favorites at the moment.

Blade Boy- I noticed your post in the Pipe of the Day thread and was hoping you would chime in about the Marlin Flake. From the little book I stumbled upon, I didn't notice any description for the flake and was wondering how it was.

It's very good IMO, has a raisin or date like tin note, a nice sweetness due to the Cavendish and a little spice from the Perique, high on my flake list.

Marlin Flake is one of the best there is.

Thanks fellas and thank you Blade Boy for the nice description, it sounds great and I know what I hope Santa will put in my stocking this year lol.

Great find, that booklet. Need to spend more time reading it so I've saved it away!

I have a few Rattray's baccies in my collection and they are all good. marlin is my favourite but I haven't tried Hal o'the Wynd. Old Gowrie is a tasty medium Virginia, not as tangy as Marlin.

Also have Red Rapparee and that's an excellent Oriental blend.

All quality stuff

Thank you, Gareth. I think Marlin and Rapparee are now officially on my tobacco "want" list.

Can't go wrong with Marlin Flake, one of my favorites. Rub it out and let it dry for a few minutes before smoking...I find it burns better, but YMMV ;-)
