Pipe and cigar?

Curious to know how many smoke both pipes and cigars?

Myself, pipe almost exclusively but maybe a few cigars over the decades. Considering more cigars but the cigar is a lot of tobacco in one go round.

So, are you a tobacco pipe only fella, or only cigars, or do you smoke both with regularity?

I’m both. Actually started with the pipe a few years ago but have recently gravitated towards cigars.

I still enjoy a nice pipe on a cool, crisp morning. But with a young family, work, and life in general, and the chaos that comes along, I seem to grab a cigar in the evening to wind down.

To me, smoking a pipe is for thinking time and it is an active activity; managing your puffs, tamps, etc. with a cigar, it’s pretty much effortless and allows my mind to unplug.

Not made for these times.
I used to enjoy both but starting the morning off with a pipe and some black coffee was often my ritual. Cigars were more of an afternoon/evening thing for me.

Both. A pipe, year round, although the mixtures sometimes change with the seasons (I prefer my English blends in the cooler weather). Cigars, outside, more during the warmer months, and when visitors want to puff along with a drink.

A cigar tends to be a more social use with visiting smokers, as it is easier for most gents to quickly master compared to a pipe.

The irony is that where smoking is allowed, the room note of a pipe is far more socially acceptable than a cigar. In a mixed crowd, especially indoors, you will always do better with a pipe. Particularly with ladies. So my cigars tend to do a lot of aging in winter.

A cigar is not so much tobacco for some pipe men. ;) And past a point, smoking a pipe becomes an autonomic activity. Most visitors are casual smokers, and not to that point. So they are led to the humidor.

Earlier this year I bought a tin of Romeo y Julieta cigarillos. I think I've smoked half of one, and chopped another up in part to mix in with pipe leaf. Maybe if I hit a cool spell on a weekend morning, I'll try one again.

Use to both in 70's, now it just Cigars. Had some old Pipe from 70's that I had held on too for ever. Was in Cigar n Pipe Shop in Carmichael CA near home one day. They had sign say we buy old pipes, they bought mine for Store Credit that was more then cash. The money went to Cigars.

I smoke both. Pipes more often now than cigars. My wife enjoys the smell of a pipe more than a cigar. Cigars anymore are for special occasions or when I feel like having one.

Slickness is a sickness
Pipe only. I know this isn't popular, especially in a tobacco-centric forum, but I cannot stomach the smell of a cigar...just awful. I'd rather be in a room full of cigarette smokers.

I gravitate towards cigars more recently. I think because it takes me back to time spent with my father who passed a year ago this month. I still prefer the pipe to cigars all else being equal.

I smoke a pipe and occasionally cigars.

I have been craving these "little cigars" (just cigarillos with a filter haha) Vanilla Captain Black, hard to get since I can't order it online since out of state stores won't ship into my state. Makes it difficult to get a lot of variety of pipe tobacco too. I used to buy the Captain Black mini-cigar packs locally but my store stopped carrying it, damn shame.

The usual smoke for me is Sweet John from Racine and Laramie in my pipe.

Only cigars now. Since covid hit me pipes just don't work for me. Been putting off putting my pipes in BST.
