Questions for those with experience with Razorock aftershave balms

Ordering some products from Italian Barber in the next few days (waiting on a couple things to arrive before deciding if I want to order more or not). I have heard great things about Razorock soaps so I thought I would add their aftershave balms to my order. My questions: How strongly scented are the balms? How quickly do they dry into the skin? Do they leave any oil or residue behind on the skin?

I use the the RR La Famiglia Nonno Michelino and I love it. The smell is not super strong but it does stick around for a bit. It goes on a little greasy but within a couple minutes it dries nice and clean with no "residue". Also has a great cooling feel as it dries. I love the matching soap too by the way. I really think anything in their line-up is worth a try.

I think highly of all the RR products. I have the King Louis soap and the KL after shave wax to go with it. The wax is not like wax it is really a milky balm. It feels great and is lightly scented but hangs on me near noon if I shave at 8:am. A little goes a long way it absorbs well, feels good and leaves no shine on the face which is my three fold criteria. It is not a masculine scent and not super feminine, on the sweet side. I like that it is not a pump or bottle but little tub that I can get what I want out of it. I put it on with a damp face and it drys like water would.

I have the RR artisian bar soap in lavendar, King louis shave soap Lavendar and lavendar wax so I got a real scent thing going for most days. very light, when you turn your head sometimes during the day you get a nice scent. I got a sample from IB of the institut karite lavendar body milk and wow that stuff is amazing as well but expensive.

In my opinion there is not a great value in the shaving world than RR products. Joe will also never steer you wrong with his reccomendations.

A side note, I once googled the most luxurious shave soap in the world and Aqua di Parma was one that came up the most. It is at about $65.00 and with more research it turned out that the RR XXX is the same stuff. It has been discontinued as it turned out to be the same formula by the same maker. I assume ADP had it taken out of the RR line but it goes to show you that the RR line is made by top artisian's with great ingredients. I have some XXX, it is great but I would not buy ADP, I think the King Louis is more luxurious and creamy than XXX.

I like the wax product. Not a wax at all. It's a balm.

Works nicely and should last a while.

+1 on the "wax" which I think is the best of the bunch; quickly dries, no oily residue and feels moisturizing.
I've also had the King Louis Lavender and the 1st 3 flavor run (nonno, cumba and Zi) of the "La Famiglia" - all of which were ok but, for me, not keepers. I did keep the R-160 that I occasionally use after a Cella or Razorock XXX shave.

I've only used Cumba Cheech ASB from RR, but in my experience it goes on a tad greasy until you massage it in well and it dries, then it's fine. The scent does not stick around at all for me. I can smell it when I put it on but five minutes later it's gone.

the rr wax is a great balm. i'm waiting for the limes wax to get that one going. i'll use it then after about an hour i'll dose up with some after shave that'll last a little longer. the classic wax doesn't have a very strong scent which is perfect to put an as over

I prefer the wax to the balm but both are great. I must be more sensitive to smell or something because I can still smell the Cumba Cheech on my hands a couple hours later if I put my finger up to (not in) my nose.

Well, same here. If I put my fingers RIGHT up to my nose I can still smell... something. It doesn't really smell cumba-cheech-y anymore, just like... some kind of lotion. If I don't do that I can't smell it at all after five minutes, so I think it's perfect to use when wearing fragrances.

YOU MUST TRY Razorock's King Louis Aftershave Lotion (the one in the spray bottle). The scent is all natural and strong at first, but then it goes away completely in about 20 minutes. It really is the best aftershave I have ever experienced. Just make sure you shake the bottle before you spray it on you. Since it is all natural, the essential oil floats above the water/alcohol/alloe, etc., so you need to shake it up.

As good as the RR aftershave waxes are, and as pleasant as the La Famiglia balms are, the spray aftershave lotion is in an entirely different category of awesome, imho. Put it this way, this is the aftershave that Speik doesn't want you to know about.
