Questions About A Fountain pen

I got a reasonably priced Fountain pen a few years ago. (It came with Ink refills)
I like it, but find that if I don't use it for a few days the Ink Dries up.
So Is there something I can Buy for It to fix this Problem? I'd Like To Use the pen more.

If there's a converter available for it, you can try some bottled inks. I've heard some more experienced users say they tend to be wetter than cartridges. Other than that, just use it every day. :D

Richie, I notice your current tagline is "Surreptitious Brush Sniffer." Should that perhaps read "Surreptitious Nib Licker?"

More frequent use is the only real 'solution'... But nib licking works in a pinch.

I have to admit that I have licked a nib or two in my few months with a fountain pen. I've also opened a pen & twisted the converter down to where the ink is. I found I've had to do that with my LAMY ( 1.1mm nib ) when I'm using it for general writing.

Now half as wise
I have this problem with some pens. New, old, modern, vintage, lever, converter, etc. It's more of an annoyance than anything and most start with half a letter or two. Better yet, just write more everyday!

Soriously though, I've never been annoyed enough to take apart the nib and feed to adjust it, and for most pens you'd make it worse. I usually just wet my finger and swipe it (can't bring myself to lick a nib) or better slightly twist the converter to flood the feed. I've even done that with lever fillers, though that's a little trickier.

In the few days I've been writing with an FP, I've found if I'm STARTING writing something important, I just scribble a small line on a scratch sheet of paper (cause my desk is typically very messy). That way I'm sure there won't be a hard start.

That would probably be about right haha, I often give a nib a quick lick and start it on a piece of scrap paper before writing anything more important that a TPS report memo.

Don't forget the new cover sheets for the TPS reports!

Office Space - one of the all time classics! My sons and I have watched it many times, we have had the DVD and one of them got a red stapler for a Christmas present

Okay off to practice my Palmer Method training to check out some barely used pens!

I have a Parker Vac which lives on my desk at home. Usually when I pick it up after a while it is reluctant to start. I just give it a little flick of the wrist, and that seems to get the ink flowing, and it writes fine. Seems better than drawing on my tongue.

Looking ahead about a month or so, I see the inevitable "no, you're screwed" responses to the thread asking ...

... can I get Baystate Blue stains off my tongue?

And the also inevitable "hey guys, i went to the hospital because I bleached my tongue" follow-up thread.
