Question regarding Merkur 39C Slant Sledgehammer

I'm looking in getting the 39C, but firstly I'd like to know how the handle attaches to the head. Is it like the 15C/33C which is built like a Tech in terms of how it comes apart? The reason I ask is I'm unsure if I'll like the long barber pole handle. If I do, I can use it on my 15C/33C. If not, I can use the 15C/33C handle on the Slant head.

The blade bed is attached to the handle. The cap has a long threaded rod that attaches inside the handle. It looks just like the red 38C in this thread. That means that the handle isn't interchangeable with other heads.

Thanks for clarifying. Not the answer I was hoping for, but atleast now I know.

I'll play it safe and stick with a handle I know I'll like (37G).
