Exactly where did you stay?
Here in Rome you can find it almost everywhere: supermarkets, shopping centers, local shops, etc.

Proraso is quite common in Italy at the supermarket, health and beauty stores and is quite a value. Shave cream tube is around 2-3 Euro, the balm and splash are 5-6 and the tubs were also in the 2-3 price range.

Another example along with Tabac and Irisch Moos of European items that seem to be held in higher esteem over here in North America than their homelands.

Do someone have an answer to why it is so expensive to ship from Italy to rest of Europe?

There are a couple of websites with very good prices but they all charge very high shipping costs. Small packages from Germany, Spain or Portugal is normally 8-10€. From Italy 25-30€.

When I asked a friend of mine who is a tennis coach here in the States, to have one of his German students bring some Irisch Moos over, he said something to the effect, Hey that is the cheap stuff, I can get something better if you want.

In Greece we have widely available Nivea creams for the same price for the 100ml and two other brands that are not mentioned here at all.

The first is KOLYNOS and the second is called PROSAR. I havent tried the latter two, but I will as time passes by.

I think that we should trade creams with each other. If you calculate that it will cost you 2 euros for a cream plus 2-4?? maybe euros for mail expenses then I think that it is a fair deal..... Send cheap creams to people that have them in their country expensive and vice versa
