Question concerning a couple of badger brushes

I'm looking for a cheap badger brush and found the two below on the bay. What's stopping me from buying one is the cost. These are so inexpensive that I'm having a hard time believing that they are of any quality whatsoever.

So that bring me to my question, would any you buy and use one of these? I have no idea what brand they are. I can't find that info in the listing.

Those look like the famous Chinese-made badger brushes (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=121903 and http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=21457). Personally I think the lofts are too high for face-lathering. They might be ok for bowl lathering, but keep in mind that if the quality is poor, you aren't likely to get much help from the seller.

you should spend the extra dollar from what i understand this is not an item you need to purchase very often.

I've got one and think for the money, it's great. Mine hasn't been a shedder, has held up well to moderate use and seems to show no signs of catastrophic failure.

It is pretty floppy, and I use mine more with creams than soaps, and I'm mainly a soap guy.

It's not my first choice for beating up soaps (Omega #49 boar there) or for shaves when I'm in a hurry (I tend to grab the lowly Tweezerman when I'm rushed for time) but it's a decent brush.

If just a cheap badger brush is what you want, go get the Shea Moisture Shave Brush from Target.
It's 9 dollars, and if something does go wrong, you have a reliable retailer that you can go back and complain to.

EDIT: Sorry, I see you're in Canada. Maybe a fellow B&B'er can be persuaded to swap you one of the Target brushes for a fine bottle of your Green Aqua Velva!!!
