I ordered a Silvertip with a firehouse handle about a month ago, and Larry said it would take 4-6 weeks to ship, which seems perfectly reasonable to me, for a custom brush. Now. That it's been about 4 weeks, my anticipation is really starting to ramp up, and I starting wondering; for those of you who've ordered a brush from WD before, does Larry send out an email when he ships the brush, or does it just show up? I'd appreciate it if anyone can share their experience.

On my previous 3 purchases, I got a link with a tracking number. Granted they were immediate orders and not custom, but I'd think you'd get the same email. The tracking wasn't very updated, but I at least knew when it was headed my way.

Yes. You will get a notice. My latest Firehouse just came. Synthetic, 50mm loft, extra long handle.

Thanks for the info...I wasn't worried, everything I read about WD and Larry led me to make the purchase with full confidence. Was just wondering what he protocol was.

Never faced a problem in communication with WD.
Larry is a great guy and customer service is top notch.
While my email from Larry was delivered to my inbox, I have had exactly this problem with other vendors. I almost missed a several thousand dollars sale because of an aggressive spam filter once. Had I not been so worried about the thing I would have missed it.

That's not a concern. It's been barely four weeks, so it likely won't ship for another week or two. I was just wondering whether or not to expect an email; I've ordered other things from small vendors like that who don't send a shipping confirmation.
When I ordered a couple of strops from there I was pretty frustrated with the poor communication but when my package arrived (unexpectedly) I was totally satisfied with the products.
Larry is a fine fellow to do business. They don't come any better.
I've never received tracking from Larry. Firehouse handle will take a bit longer to receive. You won't be disappointed.
