Question about recent cheap brush purchase

Bought a very cheap, very basic, badger-hair brush off ebay (it only set me back 10 bucks, so no big deal). Used it 4 times so far. However, it feels pretty darn stiff and is almost scratchy/prickly on my face when I'm lathering. Is this normal for low-grade pure badger hair (I mean it was only 10 bucks)? I primarily use a Rooney super badger, so I'm not sure if this is the real difference between pure badger hair and super badger hair... or if its really just a crappy brush? If its the former, then I will stick with super-badger from now on. Thoughts?

Thanks!

PS:This forum rocks btw....

Sounds exactly like the sort of difference you would expect between a Rooney Super and cheap brush in pure. But $10 isn't much to pay to satisfy a curiosity, right?

True, I'm not upset or anything, just didn't really expect the difference between pure and super to be so darn significant. Its really a scratchy lathering. Not liking it one bit. Back to my Rooney super badger.....

Is this difference to be expected with even the higher end pure badger shaving brushes....like AOS for example?

If you only used it four times then it may not be broken in yet. Use it for about 2 weeks, it should be much better.
