I have a fondness for the outdoorsy scent of Marlborough. To me it smells of ski trips in the forests, drinking hot chocolate around a campfire in late winter. I like it enough to want a matching aftershave, or perhaps I should go for a cologne.
When talking about aftershaves, I like the smoothness of my skin after using Proraso Green (new formula), but during my cartridge days, I wasn't crazy about alcohol burn (less smooth shave, more acne, the stinkiness of the AS splash may account for that memory) but besides from that I have mostly used balms, and love Mühle Sandalwood and Proraso balms.
The question now - is it a good idea to pair the Marlborough soap with the aftershave of the same name? Lack of projection is no problem for me, since I work in medicine, with a policy of no perfumes at work, but I believe I could get away with "soap like scents" like the Shaving Shop Cologne from TOBS. The little I have read is that the AS is short lasting - but I can't really get any idea about the scent.
Buying samples and decants is ofcourse the best way, but I've no local Swedish decanter that I know of, and know of no European ones.
Got to rush now, but will be back later to answer any follow up questions, and check replies of course.
Thank you for your input!
