Pullups/Pushups/Dips

Does anyone do these. I mean...A LOT of these? I'm going to incorporate them more into my workout. Maybe even make them the marjority of my workouts. I have no desire to get huge. Just fit and atheltic looking. I have lifted weights since high school. I'm gonna get back to the basics and get ripped up! No more lifting heavy objects in weird positions that you will never even use on a daily basis. I'll still do some staple things...bench press, curls, things like that, but I'm pretty sure if I do the three excersizes I mentioned It will take care of most things. I looked up some pictures of "calisthenic bodies" and wow! That is what I wanna go for. Ripped up real muscle. Good day Gents!

I think there's a reason why classic exercises are still around. They work. I'm more focused on cardio, so the weights, etc. are light and just for tone.

I am mainly a long distance runner, but I do incorporate core exercise after my runs including two sets of fifty deep pushups.

Yep, I work my back twice a week and make sure I do pullups those days. I usually have a set number I want and once I pass it goto failure.

I usually train my chest heavy one day then have a lighter day where I do lots of pushups.

On arms day Ill do dips. Check out a dip belt so you can add weight to your dips once you start getting stronger and used to your body weight.

Maybe you should check out P90X. Tons of pushups and pullups and chair dips. If you do the program right(maximum reps on each exercise) you will get ripped.

Lift weights, do conditioning work and the next is very important, get your diet in order. Follow that program and you'll get that "ripped" look you want.
Remember abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym.

Thanks for all the input! I did WAY more pullups than I normally do on back/bicep day this morning, and if felt good! It's definetly a cool feeling being able to do a crapload of pullups or dips versus putting some weight on a bar and pulling/pushing it. Those workouts still have their place and importance, but I think this new idea of mine (not that I came up with it, just that I'm going to start it) will work out well!

I do them frequently (less of the dips, so far) and I plan to do even more. They are great.

Pull ups in particular give a nice pumped feeling in your back muscles. Always good as a pick-me-up. (Heh - that's literally what they do!)
