What's new

Pulled the trigger on my first Simpsons

Chubby 1 in Best from WCS.

After weeks of collectively busting your chops on lofts, knot sizes, custom this & that, 2 band versus whatever, I figured I'd reach for the iconic Chubby as my first Simpsons.

The 2 bands and super-exotics can wait a bit longer...I remembered that the CH 1 was the first brush I lusted after and ended up getting side-tracked.

Thanks to everyone for their patience of late with my incessant questions - I hope I haven't been too much bother.

Just for fun I ordered a bowl of Tabac as well - want to see what all the fuss is about...

That's exciting! Be sure and post pictures as well as share your thoughts on it post use. The Chubby's are really something special, I really love Simpson brushes and I think you will too!

Thanks lads,

I must admit I'm more nervous about the CH 1 than the Savile Row 3824 and I spent a bundle on that.

You are going to love the Chubby 1. Don't get stuck over the Best vs. Super vs. 2-Band discussions. Simpson Best is a great grade of hair. The Chubby 1 delivers as one the leaders in density, so even with a smaller knot you are going to great backbone. Definitely one of my favorites along with the Chubby 2 and Duke 3. Each has a different quality but they all are similar as well. All are great for face-lathering.

Enjoy!

Congrats, Paul! The Chubby is one of the finest brushes for face lathering soaps IMHO. I love my Chubbies, in both Best and Super 3 band!

Thanks gents,

even though I'm sure everyone has seen a CH 1 before I will post some pre and post-bloom pics.

As a fail safe I actually included a Semogue 620 in the order as well - SBAD...

You won't be disappointed. It is a great brush in an everyday usable size.

You may very well forget you own any other brushes after the first week with it.

Paul, congratulations on your chubby (and 620 too).

As to the constant questions about different brushes, isn't that the forum is really all about?

Enjoy your new lathers!

Cheers guys,

TBH seeing replies from demaro, redrako, turtle, krona, marco, celestino etc...all blokes who have a great deal of respect from us newer members...that's just one of the great things about this place. Thanks again!
