I would like to share my recent experiences with the new proraso shaving products. In the past I had used the old proraso green shave cream, pre/post cream and after shave lotion with mixed results. The shave cream performed wonderfully but after several days of continual use my face would break out, the pre/post cream worked great but at times left a chalky sensation and the after shave lotion gave you a great post shave menthol blast but by mid day my face was very dry.
Hence after all the positive talk of the new formulations I decided to purchase the red, green and blue tube of shave cream. As well as the new pre shave and after shave lotion. I am happy I did.
Over the last month I have used the new proraso creams and products about 90 % of the time with wonderful results.
The new pre shave is great and makes a difference. I use it daily with all of the creams. I have found it really does give you a closer shave but equally for me adds a certain amount of moisturizing that lasts throughout the day. This is to say nothing of the menthol kick. I have used it with several other soaps and it has changed the shave. One day I shaved only with KK soap and proraso after shave lotion but no pre shave. Yes, the shave was good but noticed my skin felt slightly dry later in the day. The very next day same products but I added the pre shave and my skin was drastically improved.
The new creams are all great but prefer them in this order: green, blue and red.
The new green cream is wonderful. It lathers easily, is very slick and has a good menthol kick. When I combine it with the new green pre shave and new after shave lotion, I am in shaving heaven. I can use it a week straight without breaking out like I did with the old formula. The blue cream works wonders as well. The scent is different. It is slightly fresh and cologne like. It produces huge amounts of rich slick lather like the green. The best part for me is the skin properties. My skin feels super post shave and throughout the day every time I use the blue. I think it is the added Aloe? The red cream is good but I feel the positive properties are a little less then the green and blue cream. At times my skin is dry later in the day after using the red cream. The scent is woody and ok.
I have saved the best for last. The new after shave lotion is in one word Fantastic. It not only heals the skin post shave but for me, more importantly ,moisturizers the skin throughout the day. This is to say nothing of the menthol blast found upon application. It produces a smooth skin feeling verses a tight sensation I have found with other after shaves. In fact, I am beginning to prefer it to Myrsols agua balsamica lotion. The new lotions only downfall is that my wife prefers the scent of the old lotion.
The new proraso products are a pleasure to use and very economical. There is just something that gives me an extra bounce in my step after I have had proraso shave
