Prewar DE question

Is the Gillette Prewar the same thing as a Fat Handle Tech DE?

They look a lot alike to me, and many that I've seen on the 'Bay seem to have dates associated with them from 1938-1945, which is around the same dates a the Prewars.

Yes...sort of. The pre-war tech can be identified by the cutouts in the baseplates. They changed, the tech became the "Post-war" tech, but retained the same Fat Handle.

There were some Fat Handle Techs that came out after the war going into the early 1950's. It would be easier to identify the Prewar Techs as having the triangle slots.
