What would you recommend as a good preshave product for wet shaving?

Proraso pre/post shave cream is my favourite. It works incredibly well when used as a pre-shave treatment. An excellent product indeed! 
My favorite is five minutes of lather!

Seconded. I use it every day and have done for years! The jumbo barber's tub (500g) is good value and it lasts for ages.
I've found phenomenal success with Cremo shave cream applied in the shower and rinsed off just prior to exiting the shower. I find Cremo horrible as an actual shaving cream, but great for beard prep. It really softens.
My vote is for T&H pre-shave oil. A few drops and the razor glides over my skin.
Another vote for the Proraso pre/post shave cream sensitive aloe green tea.
2 parts olive oil + 1 part castor oil is a nice preshave oil. Believe it or not, Ballistol, the CLP, works really well if you can like the smell of anise!
I also use Proraso Pre/Post and SMN Pre/Post.
The SMN is undoubtedly the most luxurious and the best, sadly it's not the cheapest
