Polsilver super iridium question

Hi gents
I bought some super iridiums from bullgoose 6 months ago or so, and the blade comes in a blue wrap and then inside the blue wrap there is a clear wrap and inside that is the blade...
Now i just recieved my order from WCS, and even though the outside packaging looks exactly the same as the ones from bullgoose, however, there is no blue wrap! as soon as you open the package , you see that the blade is in the clear wrap.. Is this their new packaging or what? i'm confused

To summerize: My new Polsilver Super iridium blades are single wrapped.

The ones on the left are the original Super iridiums, not Polsilvers. Do the ones on the right come in a Polsilver wrapper. I have both, but mostly use the originals at this point. That is how mine are packaged. I haven't used a Polsilver SI lately, so I am not sure how they are packaged.

The pictures are just examples i found on google as I don't have access to my camera to take pictures of my actual blades. I'm at work so i just put those pictures up from the net.
The ones i got at WCS come with the super iridium box just like the left picture, but they don't come with the blue wrap. hope that makes sense.

I happened to have an open pack of both the old Super Iridiums and the newer Polsilver Super Iridiums, so I snapped a quick picture.



Both are double wrapped.

Did you order more than one pack from WCS? If so, I'd open up another and see if they are all missing the double wrap. Perhaps it was just a manufacturing error with one pack.

Someone recently stated that PPI has discontinued the outer wrapper for Astra. I will see if I can find that post.

Update: There is some mention of this in one of the other forums if you search under "New Astra Packaging". The Polsilver Super Iridium blades that I have are all double wrapped just like the old Iridium Super (just newer packaging).

On a slightly different note, does anyone know if Super Iridium is just word play as Iridium is part of the Platinum family. So, are these blades just "Super Platinum"?

One Polish website claims Platinum chrome + PTFE.

The Polsilver Super Iridium blades you have pictured appear to be wrapped exactly like the Astra blades that I mentioned seeing in the other forum ("New Astra Packaging", with quotation marks). Also, the wax dots (just two?) appear to be placed in exactly the same location as they are on the Astra blades pictured on the other site. Guess the only question I might have here is whether the packaging says Czech anywhere on it? Otherwise, I wonder if PPI has decided to discontinue the outer wrapper.

I took some closer pictures. Here's everything there is to be seen O.O I wounder how much money the can save by removing the outer wrapper ? On something that cost so little, every cent is important.
