Please help! Vac in Texas, need suggestions.

Good Day. My wife and I will be In Austin for 3 nights starting 3/4/10. Other than the B&B gathering on Sat I need suggestions on places I can NOT MISS and places I might as well miss.

Following Austin will be in San Antonio for 3 nights, and then to Port Aransas for 4 nights.

Any Must do or Must miss suggestions would be welcome. I will have a car.

What kinds of activities do you enjoy doing?

Watch the sunset at the Oasis restaurant.

Climb the 99 steps to Mount Bonnell.

Since we have not visited Texas before, we would like to learn some of the history, see some music in Austin, EAT some fine local foods, fish, BBQ. The wife likes shopping a bit, mostly looking, thank goodness. I love to take morning walks, early . Basically a site seeing tour as we try to not become touristas. Ha!

Thanks for the early suggestions. Oh we are both 60 yrs old which don't make us dead but do wear long pants.:confused1

While in SA, go walk down the river walk and see the shops.
Take the cheesy boat tour if you feel like being extra tourist-y. (I still kinda enjoy if only for the cheesy-ness). Hope you get a guide that's really into it, for extra-extra cheese.

Must drink a margarita on the riverwalk. Iron Cactus for fajitas.

Good call, the last time I was SA, I was still a couple of years under the age limit.

Also, anywhere in TX, find a grungy taqueruia that only speaks spanish and try to order something. Whatever they bring you will be 100000x better than any mexican food you have ever eaten. Pork fajitas? OMG:001_tt1:
