What's new

Picture maybe someone will appreciate.

Well I have been gone for a while (but not gone from wet shaving one bit!). I guess I have control problems re: spending money. When someone gives a recommendation, suddenly I'm trying to make a purchase! But I should be on more.

Anyways, my girlfriend really likes the show Pawn Stars, and without going into too much, I snapped this picture with you guys in mind:

P.S. I just snapped the picture, I didn't purchase the razors. (which means it's still there if anyone lives near Las Vegas!)

Sorry for the poor quality, I used my phone and it was in a case. It's straight razors with a different day for each, I may have seen ones like this, but it was pretty cool to see in the wild. Unfortunately without going into bashing, the Pawn shop from the show is not your average pawn shop in regards to prices. I tried to snap a picture of the price, it's $325 :scared: (not 350, thanks El-a-Menthol, I can't even read my own pictures :001_unsur)

Oh you're right it is $325, lol luckily I took that picture of the price tag. (I didn't buy it too, just snapped the picture)

I thought it was a bit expensive, but honestly I didn't even have them take it out and look at them at all. This is the "Gold and Silver Pawn Shop" from the show "Pawn Stars" and it's really more like a museum or high-end antique shop than it is a Pawn Shop! I wonder if it really is a good buy, just from the prices etc., I figured that most things were probably a bit overpriced because of it's popularity...well actually most things were overpriced. It was pretty weird, I love the show, but I think they should stop calling it a Pawn Shop one of these days!

I wouldn't count that as expensive at all.

That's $46 per razor, well within the realm of normal pricing for a good condition (usable) razor, that is not one of the prized brands. Likely even a little bit on the low side.

Being a matched 7 day set (assuming each individual day is present), and having the original matching box, also adds to the value.

Now if these were one of the prized brands, if the razors were all in mint condition, or if the scales are made of a unique material, this set would most certainly be vastly under priced.

Well like I said I didn't look at them, but judging from the store, they didn't have too many items that were tarnished, if it was an average pawn shop I'd expect different, but this was some high-end pawn shop where I didn't find things that I'd expect to see in a pawn shop (i.e. lower value items).

The only reason why I'm wondering about the value is not the look of the box, it is the shop. It seemed like everything in there was super expensive, they had a huge display of souvenirs, it's a bit ridiculous. If it wasn't so out of my budget I'd have looked at it, they were rushing people through though and I felt bad asking to see stuff I had no interest, nor no money, to buy since the workers were telling me they made money on commission. I didn't even really think of purchasing it at all, I just never saw one of these sets in the wild so I snapped a picture of it.

I would recommend visiting the pawn shop if you're in Las Vegas, I've heard there can be long lines but we went on a weekday and waited maybe 5 minutes to get in, and it was like walking through a museum more than walking through a pawn shop. That and if you watch the show it's pretty neat to see the items in person, as well as the actual film set/shop.
