More info here related to recent AccuTec rebranding:

Both brands sold/sell an unlabeled 'barber blade' in several configurations (uncoated, coated, oiled, degreased etc.) for white labeling/bulk/rebranding. They are not the same blades as the branded ones. However, as far as I could discern, these too are mfg. in Verona, VA.----------make sense

Have you tried out the new blades yet? They may be the same as the older Med Prep blades. Hard to tell with no branding on them, though. Normally, the Med Preps have "For Hospital Use" or similar on them.

I found the Lab Blues and Med Preps to be pretty similar.

Contrary to my previous posts - the current products being shipped from Verona are not labeled at all - the packaging is the only indicator. Blue = AccuThrive (Med Prep) Black = AccuForge (Lab Blue) ...This per the med supply where I get my AccuTec blades.
If you are buying a reliable seller, these should be the real thing.

与我之前的帖子相反 - 当前从维罗纳发货的产品根本没有标签 - 包装是唯一的指标。蓝色 = AccuThrive(医学准备)黑色 = AccuForge(实验室蓝色)...这是根据我获得 AccuTec 刀片的医疗供应。
如果您购买的是可靠的卖家,这些应该是正品。

So?

Are med prep actually still used for "Med Prepping"??

I had occasion to be 'med prepped' very heavily, 6 years ago.
the Lovely Prep Nurse did everything from my jugular to my [ 💩 ] Dot
❌ no razor but a set of battery clippers, thus no skin nicks or cuts or abrasions for less chance of that MRSA 💉 👩‍⚕️

are backward countries still using med prep blades for well med prepping? 🩸

Hi,

Yes. Still used. Depends on the hospital. Some use these. Some use DermaGard. That's a Med Prep, with a wrapped edge, and in a plastic razor. Disposable. And good for dry shaving.

The wrapping on the blade edge prevents the blade edge itself from contacting skin so it would not give a shave as close as we are used to. It does allow enough hair removal to get on with the main job.

The have a twin blade disposable razor variant as well. I think these two have displaced the Med Prep from some uses.

Cool, thanks, answers my question.
Advances in medical procedures are a 21st century marvel, with instant world access to the information super hiway one gets to discuss stuff, and it's always baffling that some countries still seem behind the eight ball on some of the basics ie med prepping hairy sods or the good old digital exam :crying: there is a blood test for that!!

Nice to know that if a prepper whips out a razor it may have been updated to the 21st century, not a 18th century model. :D

I shaved a fortune
I had a vasectomy 44 years ago.... Dry shaving was involved... I wonder if they have a more modern method now.... I'll ask our son... he's going in next week. <eg>
