Personna Israeli's Red Pack = WIN

Working my way through my westcoast sampler pack, last night I decided to try the Personna Israeli's.
When I shave I take a shower and this time I lathered up with TOBS Lavender and was at first hesitant as to whether or not to try out a new blade (Personna) or use what I know what works for me, the Derby’s.
I don’t know if not shaving for 4 days have anything to do with it but the shave was very smooth and I besides my lower neck I had minimal irritation.

At the time of this review I have only tested the Derby’s and Astra’s but I must say that the Personna’s are very forgiving and imo are sharper then the Derby’s.
I consider myself a noob and never quite understood up until now, when people would say that one should try multiple blades and find a blade that works for them.
I’m still working my way through my sample pack but I must say that I think I have found my “goto” blade.

Currently working my way through a sampler pack and I have tried derbys and Astras, I am now using Iridiums and they are best balance of sharpness, smoothness and durability.

Have personna reds in the pack, but still to sample

Yessir, and down the line, if you want a really close, efficient and forgiving shave, put your israeli red pack in a Merkur slantbar. That's the business! :yesnod:

While I agree with you, IRPs are the best for my face...I would also say that with a few days growth, any blade can feel good.

IMHO, the real test of a blade is how it performs on the next day...and the next...and next.

In this instance...for me....IRPs are still just that good!

I just learnt this thanks to your post.
Usually my face can’t tolerate shaving 2 days in a row, as in the past I would wait 2-3 days as I have sensitive skin (more so around my neck area). I just got done with a second shave with the same blade not even 5 minutes ago and my face feels bbs and once again with minimal irritations.

Call me weird but right now I am super excited about this blade

Yes to all of this.

Awesome! Great to hear of your IRP success!

Nice post. Since reading about the inconsistencies of Derbys, I've been looking for another blade to compare to the Feathers. And seeing how I have no interest in other blades right now, looks like IRPs get the nod.

The Red pack Israeli Personna is my number 1 DE razor blade.
It has the perfect balance between sharpness and smoothness and always gives a great, comfortable, irritation free shave.
Simply outstanding.:thumbup1:

If only they were a tad sharper though....... Personna's are a great shave, very forgiving. Wish they had a tad more bite. Like Astra & Treet Platinum.

Red Pack Personna is also my #1 choice. They give me great shaves with no irritation. They are sharper than Derby and even so they are very smooth. As someone said, they are the perfect balance between sharpness and smoothness.

I've used them since the first time I used them. If that makes sense. It was like when I met my wife. I just knew this was the one. I occasionally try another (blade that is, not another wife) and nothing has the same balance between sharpness and smoothness.

I didn't try them for a while, because they are so inexpensive. Someday, somebody will tell them and we'll be paying 5 bucks a pack. I'd actually pay that.

When or if you take up straight razor shaving, they are perfect for the first few months when you need to touch up after each shave.

I just popped a new one in, but I expect I'll feel that way (^^^^^) after the next 3 or 4 days of shaving...

The IRP was one of the first blades that "clicked" for me. I've gotten lots of great shaves from them. However, as my technique improved and I gained experience, other blades started working better for me. So keep using them if they work for you, but give some others a try once you're a few months in. You might be surprised.

Ok thats it, i'm ordering some. I've been hearing about these for a while now. I use Derby blades and have not had a problem with them but now I am curious.

They're great, but think sampler pack that contains these!
