Pasteur Pharmacy Acca Kappa 1869 -tube version

I didn't find what I was looking for at a recent trip, but they had Acca Kappa 1869 pre-post and shaving cream in tubes. I've read all about the (very) different - and excellent - tub formulation, but, not wanting to leave empty handed, I made the buy. I also picked up the 1869 Cologne. Pricey but a big bottle.

I waited for about a dozen shaves before writing this.

This stuff is actually insanely great. It compares favorably with i coloniali rhubarb in tubes as well as Penhaligan's in tubes. Better than the ADP in tubes by far.

For days when I skip and my beard is heavy, it is especially good. The scent is very masculine and better suited for cold months. I've got a bad nose, but it reminds me a little of Pen's Opus scent.

A bonus is that the ASB, which is really good, also works very nicely as a pre-shave.

This is an easy to lather, very lubricating and moisturizing shave. I suspect it's hard to come by and that I got lucky, but if you should come across some, I highly reccommend it. It's at the top of my list these days.

When the tub version was offered a couple of years ago, those who had used both tube and tub said that the tub version was significantly better. Perhaps the tube formulation caught up to the tub version, or it was just insanely great in the first place, and the tub was simply nirvana. Regardless, nothing ventured nothing gained, and it sounds like you struck it big on an impulse buy. Congrats!
