Parker 82r

Never again will I buy a Parker. Same issue sounds like Sledgehammer had over in another thread. I'm going to call Parker next week about my TTO 82R, which has an issue with one of the doors. It won't close all of the time properly, getting jammed on one side, one of three things happens-

1. sometimes it works
2. option two is where I hear a small "click" when I twist it down and that means it DID work but got a little stuck (it gives, finally)
3. finally, sometimes the door won't close correctly and the mechanism simply bends up into the safety bar

--In the event of 3. I must unscrew and try again, where I again get one of the above three results (roughly even, about 1 out 3 times I will get #3).

I'm a little p-oed, to say the least, and plan on telling Parker how I feel. Other than this faulty tto mechanism, the razor looks brand new. I haven't tried it yet, though, as I would prefer this taken care of.

Fair warning to everyone here about Parker razors, whether they claim it's new and improved or not. I will never buy another Parker and am not sure I even want a replacement at this point, but it is the principle of the thing now. Is it too much to expect that when I pay for something new it will work like a new product? Not happy my friends, not happy at all. :cursing:

That's too bad, and I'm sorry to hear this. I'd try sending them an email and seeing what they are going to do about this.

I must say that whenever I've ordered a DE razor I've gone with Merkur. They have so many different models so its easy to get what you want. I've never had any problem with any of the Merkur's I've bought.

Good luck with Parker, and check out other options. :thumbup1:

Sorry to hear about your problems with the Parker. I too had problems with mine ( a different TTO model were the doors wouldn’t close evenly and a blade gap that made the safety bar pointless). This issue with the doors seems to be a more common problem with this brand than people realize.

I would try to get your money back . A replacement may have the same problems.
Good Luck.

Makes me wonder how this company stays in business? :confused1 Doesn't look to me like they'll stay in business much longer.

Based on what I've read about them I know I wouldn't buy a DE from them. :thumbdown
