Palmolive Classic...

When I first tried this I wasn't that impressed with it. However, I have gone back to it as I am using up all my creams as I intend to use Proraso as my everyday cream and then experiment with one other high end cream at a time. Anyway, Palmolive really is an excellent lather, really thick and creamy. When you consider the price you cannot fault it in anyway.

I haven't tried Palmolive yet, but I have found several creams to be much better the second time I tried them, especially when I used them consistently for a period of time.

I too let this one sit for almost a year. Then I broke it out about 4 months ago and couldnt beleive I neglected it for so long. I like it better than most products out there. In my top 5 for sure.

I have tried the discontinued US Palmolive and still use it occasionally but not a fan of the slight almond scent. The EU Palmolive I got in a trade is killer. I have been using it alot lately. Love the smell.

I love the scent & the price!

This is what they shaved me with when I went to the Waldorf Barbershop in Dublin.

A great performer, I always have a tube in my box of shaving gear.

Be sure to try the mentholated version, Refruiscainte or however it is spelled. I got it in a lot about a year ago and LOVED it. Sent it off to my budd when he started wetshaving, and he uses it to get through the California Central Valley summers. Awesome cream, especially for the price.

+1 Speedwell

I have been using this for a while now, It really is the best I have used.

When I first started DE shaving I got some Proraso cream and soap. Then Palmolive, Williams menthol cream (French) Mon savon soap, Ingrams some fancy boots stuff in a nice set (not bought by me) and some expensive Weleda cream.

Proraso is very good, both cream and soap
williams is good and if you are a menthol lover then you cannot get stronger!
Mon savon is good, very good if you use badger
Ingrams is rubbish. I know people give it great reviews, but I just don't get it. It's ok with badger but pathetic with my Omega boar.
Weleda only works with the badger.

But the palmolive you can lather it just by looking at it! It works eually well with my badger or boar brushes and gives enough super creamy lather for 4 or 5 passes.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. And in France it's only a £1 (1.2euro)

Kindest regards. Marc.

Agreed that Palmolive is a great cream. Easy to work up a thick and slick lather, and it deserves a place in every shave den. I can't make up my mind about the scent, some times I like it, other times, no big deal.

For sure an all Palmolive superlather is on my to do list.

This is great stuff, and soooo cheap over here, love the lather and its nice and slick on your face:thumbup1:

Like this stuff. I have taken it in my travel kit and it works well just face lathering with a cheap boar brush. It has a nice unobtrusive soapy smell too. Only slight problem was the supermarket I got it at stopped stocking it for a while so when I saw they had it back, I went a bit nuts and picked up a new tube every time I was in there. I must have 5 or 6 now.

I was going to drop this from my rotation, but seriously this is really great stuff. I have been using it day after day and it is fantastic. I have my high end creams that I use for special occasions (TOBS Rose, CRS Essential Limes and Proraso). But I think this will be my daily.

to me it produces a very nice lather; also with somewhat "harder" water
i'd go for the cream if i had to choose; simply because i don't like to use sticks.

sadly it just doesn't smell right to me:blushing:

I recently ordered some from WCS and it got back ordered, so now I can't wait to get it, it sounds like it will be a real treat!!:thumbup1:

Ive been using the EU version for almost a week now and I'm really impressed that something this cheap can perform so well.

I'm getting a thick, creamy lather with so little effort that it almost feels like cheating.

I know what you mean. I am finding it difficult to believe that this stuff is less than £1.50 a tube.
