Palm stropping a new blade while it is IN the razor?

Does anyone Palm Strop a new blade while it is in the razor? Or between shaves? I have found that doing so may increase shave smoothness as it smooths the coatings when new and strops of crud between shaves. This is a newer technique I am trying and still experimenting with. So far so good.

I tend to favor razors with robust blade clamping, so this is pretty easy to do, just strop a razor loaded with a blade across the heel of your hand a few times. Per side if it is DE, one side if it is SE. Very safe and easy as well.

You only get one side of the blade, but alas, your face only touches one side of the blade. Give it a shot, don't cost nothing.

Straight razor shavers strop both sides, because the lore goes, it burnishes both sides of the edge and realigns any misalignments/micro-chips in the apex of the edge.

Take the blade out, strop both sides of the edge and I bet you get better results

Interesting! Something to mess with.

I stropped a Kai Pink (3) in a Yaqi Romulus today. The blade was very "bitey" before and it was smooth as silk today. Gave it a light touch too and was rewarded for it. 3rd shave luck or palm strop or both?!?

That’s what I thought too.
To make any stropping effective, it needs to be done on both side of the blade.

Well, the idea is not to roll the edge, it is to smooth out the Teflon coating. That is not an issue with Straights. The jury is still out though.

I used to palm strop a multi blade disposable when i shaved in the shower. Easily lasted me nearly 6 months at 4 or 5 times a week. Worked quite well actually. Just be sure to go in the right direction when you do it.
