PAL Adjustable help

Hi all. I recently picked up a PAL Adjustable on BST, and it appears to be in good shape. The grind looks good when compared to the ones in this thread, but I just can't get the thing to cut. I'm using Ted Pella blades. Is my blade edge dragging across the front blade support nearest to the insert location? Anyone else have this issue? I really want to enjoy this razor! Help! Any input is appreciated.

I'll try to post a pic later.

Sorry, but I have to admit I've no idea what you're trying to describe. Need a picture.

If there was not a blade in before you put the first one in sometimes the initial blade does not align. When they are new they come with a blank (no edge) that gets pushed out

Inject a second one in, pushing out the first one.

this "should" fix it, if not post back

+1. Also, I found it easier to use up the setting when you insert new blades.

Here are the shots of my razor from BST.

Thanks for this, and thanks Turtle. I actually did push out the first blade using the new blade today, and seems like the same results. I tried every angle I could, but still no go. I'll try another this weekend, and we'll see.

[SIZE4]I had the same experience until I lowered the angle of the handle when I shaved.

If you examine the head carefully, you will find that the design of the head is unique. The angle of the face of the head that touches one's face is a different angle than the angle of the slightly recessed blade.

BTW my beard is coarse and tough. The best setting for me is 3 1/2 on the scale of 5. I use the made-in-China Schick Injector blades, which I find to be excellent.

Again, lower the handle maybe 10 or 15 degrees, and you'll be fine. Experiment. The Pal Adjustable is a favorite of mine, and I predict it will be one of yours too.[/SIZE]

Yes.
I almost gave up on mine, I just couldn't get my head round the fact it didn't seem to cut anything. The angle needs to be very low, unlike my other injectors by quite some distance!

I acquired one that didn't hold the blade securely, had no problem getting a fantastic shave until the blade slowly but surely slipped away from the guard bar.Darn shame, the adjustment dial functioned well and it looked mint.I didn't see any potential fix and swapped it back to the guy I got it from.

Cool razors if you can get one that functions well,if you do a search,it seems that a lot of them don't.

Well I sure got lucky with mine, it works like a charm and gives me great shaves. Generally more or less in the middle range, I get a close DFS, sort of like a fatboy on 6 or 7.
