Owl (for the wise) Blades

Just got home and my dad had a stack of 5 packs of these razors waiting for me. They must have been left by the previous owner of this apartment.

Anyone ever use these blades or hear about them? Green/grey packaging with a picture of an owl on the left, then OWL in big letters on the right with (for the wise) under it in script. Double edge blades printed on the bottom. Says they are from New York, NY and "finest sweedish steel" on the side of the box. These are all sealed in the wrapper boxes. I'd take a pic but i'm too tired to take my camera out... I can take one later if everyone demands it!

The blades are wrapped in thin paper and are themselves black (carbon?)

I haven't had any experience with those blades, but I would like to see a picture of the packaging and the blade itself, if you don't mind. :thumbup1:

I wouldn't. Those old carbon blades rarely provide good shaves.
Yes, it seems carbon blades do not hold their edge well as they suffer more readily from corrosion and did not have coatings. Corrosion doesn't have to be seen to have an adverse affect on your shave; the edge could have oxidized significantly without a visible sign.
