Wow! This is aptly named! 7.1 oz (200 gram) weight metal handle! 23 mm Manchuria M-6 finest two band badger knot. Fantastic brush, feels superb in the hand! Goes with my fairly heavy razor, these feel like real, well, tools!
The brush comes beauitifully packaged in box with paper grass, brush still tied and in a red velvet drawstring bag. It also comes with 4 small soap samples with vintage style labels and in typical Asian fashion, the little daubs of soft soap look like they were dropped from a pastry bag with a flower tip. Very elegant attention to detail. I've used this brush once after an overnight soak with Cella lather, and it has bloomed perfectly. Love it.
I did not understand artisan brush makers here feeling the pinch from Chinese brushes, at least with the $12-18 brushes you find on Amazon. But brushes like this one priced at about $80 (plus $10 shipping) I can see being tough to compete with. These are not "cheap" brushes, they are top tier quality, and I think they can hold their own with any of the premium manufacturers, and will really squeeze the artisans on pricing power.
