Orient Watch Help

I just bought a brand new Orient Blue Ray automatic watch, and I think it may be defective. The manual said to shake it 10 or more times to start the watch ticking, and I did that, but the hands won't move on their own. There doesn't appear to be any way to manually wind it. I tried shaking it for a good 30 minutes, but still nothing. I'm thinking I might need to send it in. Does anyone have any suggestions before I ship it back? This isn't my first automatic watch, so I'm pretty sure it isn't user error...

Maybe just wear it normally for a day or so, and that may get things charged up and moving.
 
I agree with Doc. Give it a chance, if not, take it back. I have a Pepsi Orient Mako and it's my favorite automatic. It's a budget watch that doesn't look so.
 
You don't "shake'" shake it...Put on your wrist....Look down at the watch as though you're reading the time.
Now just rotate your wrist ...Palm up..see the buckle....Palm down, see the watch face!! do that about 30 times.
What time is it? Is the buckle fastened? Just rotate like that...Not fast just palm up...palm down...
How's it working now? :thumbup:

PS Make sure you push the crown in.

As I said, this isn't my first automatic. When I said "shake" I meant gently simulating the side to side movement of your wrist.

I also thought that maybe wearing it would do the trick, so I've worn it all day today, and so far no movement.

Yes, the crown is screwed all the way in.

It looks like I will have to send it back...

Apparently, shaking is only the first step ... there is some baking involved too ...

The good news is that Orient USA has a very good customer service department. My experience has been that they will do what that say they will do and go out of their way to make a customer happy.
