Ordering overseas

I'm wondering if it's better to order things direct from England and Germany, razors, aftershaves, and how to go about doing it to save money. I ordered an soc through Vintagescent and saved 30 bucks on the brush. Any suggestions ?

I'll have to follow this post to see what happens. I could always keep the wife happy by saving money. Only thing is that I'm pretty sure the delay in receiving items would be longer.

Yes. My last order for soaps was placed with Connaught shaving in the UK. I have found their prices and shipping to be competitive, and even better in some cases, than US based vendors. The service has been just fine and no problems with the transit time. You might check them out and see what you think.

I comparison shop, sometimes the shipping from O/S Vendors are twice the price of the products ordered, especially on orders of two or three items. On some items I don't compromise, like certain brushes, so when I order from a O/S Vendor, I ensure I'm making a BIG Purchase.

There are a couple overseas vendors worth checking out. Keep an eye on shipping, but that goes for in-country as well.

+1

I always check Connaught aka Suffolk Supplies before ordering, so far I've found they're much cheaper on certain items. Muehle razors/brushes for instance are about $20 cheaper and most UK made soaps/creams are also nicely priced, their shipping is very reasonable as well. The only downside is sometimes packages can take 2-3 weeks to arrive if customs has their thumb up their bum, although I've found the average to be about 10 days.

Yeah, many times its a bigger savings when ordering from overseas. I've found that quite a few times, so its well worth checking out all the vendors to see where the best deal is.

It depends on the shipping costs. But it IS something to way down before ordering.
Compare them both. Sometimes it can help to order a bunch of stuff in one order to "spread out" the shipping fee per item.
And I agree, B&B has fantastic sellers, whether at your side of the waters or ours .

For blades, I can strongly recommended B&B member DrIdiot and his Double Edge Shaving Place in Singapore. Shipping to the US is free, and both his prices and service are amazing. It took only 8 calendar days for me to receive my order here in Chicago.

My only real option on some occasions has been to order from across the water.
Connaught is a great source.
Shipping from the US can be Uber expensive

Some things from Connaught or Shaving.ie are severely cheaper than stateside vendors. It saddens me to have to spend money outside the US, but when we're talking about 25-50% lower prices (on some things)..I just have to.

I have ordered numerous times from Connaught. Often on the basis of price; more than once on product selection...they carry items not easily found stateside.

I can easily live with wait time. And Connaught's order processing is quick enough; have had to go to Post Office to sign for the parcel, but never a Customs
problem or delay to speak off.

I don't mind spending $$$ overseas..after all, many of the products we seem to love are of foreign origin to begin with.

Other than Connaught, though, and the odd Ebay seller, the vast bulk of my purchases come from the States. We certainly are blessed with a number of first-rate,
U.S.-based e-tailers

I live in India and order from overseas 95% of the times. Shipping charges is the only issue. Delivery time is also really very fast.
