What's new

Oops

I've been smoking what I thought was RLP-6 with my morning coffee, off and on for a couple of years now(I purchased a pound right out of the gate), and enjoying it very much. This morning I though I would revisit some Butternut Burley (also bought a pound of it around the same time), which I thought was ok, but not great. I have both of these blends in large glass bail-top jars, labeled accordingly. After this mornings so-so smoke, I decided to look at the reviews of BB on tobaccoreviews.com. Something caught my attention on the description, "rough cut". My BB is ribbon cut. I check the description of RLP-6, "ribbon cut". My RLP-6 is rough cut. Apparently I confused the labels TWO YEARS AGO, and have been thinking BB was the inferior blend. So anything I have told anyone regarding these two blends up to this point should be ignored, or flip-flopped. Luckily nobody listens to my opinions anyway, otherwise there wouldn't be so many latakia lovers out there.:tongue_sm

Forget the mix-up, I'm just glad you finally realized this!:001_tongu
Sadly, I learned that a long time ago. Thankfully they give us Mods you Stewards to take out our frustrations on.:001_tongu

I am a Latakia (and Vetiver) junkie.

That's an interesting duo. I think they're both love it or hate it things, but they can also be acquired tastes much of the time. I'm in on both Latakia and vetiver, however, I find I can't stand either for prolonged periods of time. For example, I could never wear vetiver fragrances every day, nor could I smoke Latakia blends daily. They're both intense experiences that can burn me out (no pun intended) if I overdo it.

I understand- every thing on this site is a YMMV thing. But if they made a tallow shaving soap that smells as good as Benton Clay Vetiver Paradisi I MIGHT be able to do soap monogamy. I did just receive a sample of C&S 88, and find it to be fantastic. I am real tempted to shell out the $58 for it (with bowl).
