Online portfolio suggestions

Does anyone know of a good (free) online portfolio site? Up to this point in my career, I've not needed a portfolio. I work in the graphic arts industry, and have been employed in prepress departements at printing facilities. I'm applying for a job that asks for one to be considered. The job is more technical and would only really require occasional full graphic design (which I'm completely capable of). They still require a portfolio.

So, I'm looking for suggestions of a professional, easy to set up website that I can use to set this up. I have pretty much everything compiled that I'll be including. Unfortunately, since a lot of what is most pertinant to this job has been in my professional career, I can't exactly provide samples or artwork. I do plan on having 3 categories: Personal/freelance (labels, brocures etc that I've done for myself or friends, as well as a few I've done for pay), School (some of the larger design projects I did in college), Photography, and professional. I need something that I can set up quickly, will look great and provide a simple link to put in my cover letter and resume.

Any help is appreciated!

It's not too hard to "roll your own" but that would require a domain name and a hosting account.

Most of the free stuff is heavily advertising driven so it looks very unprofessional which I don't think you are after.

There is no such thing as a free lunch so keep this in mind when you are looking.

Yea, hosting myself is not an option. I just need something that is either free, or less than $10 a month that I can set up with the images/projects that I've compiled so I can submit my resume before the weekend.

Are you essentially talking about a website that just hosts your pictures? If so, hosting and a domain name should not cost you more than $10 a month. A domain will be around $10 per year, while the hosting package can be had for just a few bucks a month.

It will basically host pictures. I'll need areas to put descriptions on what the project was. It will be anything from pictures (photograpy), to brocures, labels, booklets, etc. Ultimately, having my own domain name and getting a hosting package may be ideal, I just don't have time for that right now. Looking for anyone who has used an online portfolio that offers a simple layout, easy to use and professional looking.

A few that I've found in a quick search - Carbonmade.com, FolioHD.com. I'll check out behance.

I use Google's Picaso but I'm just taking pictures of food with a point and shoot... When I show up at the interview I have the better pictures glued to matteing.

May I humbly suggest using your design skills to create something unique. Then make a website based on it. Good to learn and can help you really stand out
