What's new

One more thread about VDH

I just tried the Deluxe tonight for the first time. I've been using the glycerin for the longest time.

Once again, a very slick, shaveable lather with no irritation after 4 passes. It was almost the same as the glycerin, only it seemed to be a bit more soothing between passes.

If you can splash on a handful of Pinaud Bay Rum after 4 passes and have almost no fiery burn, you're definitely getting somewhere. A DFS thanks to VDH.:thumbup:

I like the VDH Deluxe a lot, and find that adding a few drops of Old Spice cologne doesn't change the way it shaves but gives it a very nice scent.

A great bargain.

I am new, so the only things I have tried so far have been VDH Deluxe, and C.O Bigelow (proraso).

I am loving the VDH. Count me in as a big fan!!:thumbup:

I have been DE shaving with VDH for about a month now. I tried using Col. Conks bay rum and i got irritation on my neck with it but not with VDH.
My technique has gotten better and I get no weepers or nicks now using this soap. Damn good shaves with it. Nice and slick and moisturizing as well.
I am hooked on this soap!

It is a fine soap, under rated and under appreciated by many. Too bad, they don't know what they're missing.

I would have to agree. I recently finished a puck of the Glycerin, which was decent, but not my favorite, but I LOVE the Deluxe. It's got the slickness of the Glycerin with the cushion of the Select. I've been using the Deluxe for several years now and I love it.

VDH is probably one of the best bargains in soap, performance, price, and quality.

If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing.

Preach on, brother!

The VDH Deluxe is just a great soap. I use it frequently. When all is said and done, it's kind of become my "go-to" when I really want to make sure I have a good shave. Works every time.

I got vdh after reading about it here. I got to say did not disappoint made for a great shave and was easy to lather. One of the four size creams/soaps I have purchased (vdh deluxe ,porasso, tabac, toms of Maine mint).I like the vdh deluxe the most It makes my face feel so soft afterwards.

I too love the deluxe more than the glycerin from VDH. I keep a few spare pucks in the den, just in case I'm feeling froggy. It has a lot of bang for the buck. Since I've read this thread, I went to check the den and I only have 3 pucks of the deluxe...I'd better go buy a puck and round it out to four. Or better yet, I think four is a small number, maybe I should bypass 5 and go right to 6 pucks to keep a nice even inventory.:thumbup::laugh:

Might as well make it twelve!

I melt 2 pucks of VDH deluxe and stir in 2 TB of glycerin. turns out very nice and is one of my go to soaps.
