What's new

One last travel brush question.

I need a new travel brush but I need to get a very small one...

Most of the 'twist-down' or 'stowaway' brushes that fit back into an alluminum tube are too big. They need to fit into a small section of my travel kit. So, I'm looking for a small brush with a VERY thin handle. I can then put some sort of tube or wrap around the brush part, and the handle will hopefully fit well. It isn't the length of the brush I'm concerned with, it is the diameter of the handle. That being said, is the Wee Scott my best bet?

The Mühle travel brush is only 32 mm wide when packed together. Have you looked at it (model 31 M 530)? The Vulfix 2189 travel brush also has a small handle, too small for me (I think my hands are smaller than average for a guy). The Vulfix brush comes with a tube which is quite big, but the tube is not part of the brush handle, so you don't have to bring it with you.

Check out the daVinci travel brush. It's about the same diameter as the Wee one, although much longer and in a self-contained tube which is its handle, like a lipstick.

You could get a Bambino omega boar for less than $10. It fits in a medicine bottle and after broken in is a lather monster.

I have never tried one of these, but it sounds like a great travel solution. Depending on how you travel, loss of baggage (including shaving kit) is always a possibility. In the case of such an incident, a $10 brush hurts less than a $40 brush...

The new HIS synthetic travel brush is not quite 1 inch in diameter and a great brush IMO. Really soft and dries quick. There is a small vent hole in the lid to keep it from trapping moisture. The knot may be a little small to hold enough lather for 3 passes, but for travel it is great. Amazon has it for $28.50 HERE.

Here are some pics of the one I bought...

It will need some break in before you even consider using it, the boar used is particularly stiff. I palm lathered mine for a week or so, daily, before trying it on my face. It took a few more weeks of daily lathering with it before it was nice. I am glad I bought it over a month before I was taking a trip.

Shoe Box Shave Shop has it for $6.99 before shipping. Hard to beat at this price.
