I think it’s gonna depend on the place. I always just tell them I want one cube. Sometimes it’s a large cube, sometimes it’s just a single “regular” cube. Either way works for me.

by saying "I like my whiskey on a big cube (round or square it doesn't matter)."

One round cube dilutes the least. Plus looks very cool. Extra points if it crydtal clear (without air bubbles).

If you must, just show the photo of what you want and don't want to the bartender. "Like this, not that".
