Omega shedding hairs

Good morning gents. Well that is in my neck of the woods. I have an Omega badger #618. Very pleased with it. Only, it's shedding hairs. 2-3 everytime I shave and that for as long as i have this brush. That is now almost 2 years. At first I thought this is normal, right? But after a while it should stop loosing hairs. Not so. Should I be worried now? Anybody else having the same experience?

No, that's not normal. Dropping hairs every day for two years is the sign of a defective brush. It's probably too late to get it replaced under warranty but you can always try. If not you'll eventually have to replace the brush yourself.

Do you soak the bristles before using it? Boar bristles actually absorb water which takes a minute or two, when dry they're more brittle and liable to break off. You probably are but as you don't say I figure it's worth at least a mention.

Thanks for the answers. I let my badger soak a few minutes and I'm very gentle with it. After rinsing, I put it upside down in the open air. I think contacting the vendor and asking him what to do.

Just giving an update. I contacted the vendor and right away I got a mail back saying he will change the brush. Even after 2 years, and the warranty is expired. That's great service. For anybody in Belgium or Holland, the store is in Antwerpen. He gives shaving classes too.

Nicely done by the vendor. Glad it all worked out for you.
