Olive Wood Handle

Hi all,

I've been recently told by a seller that olive wood handles show problems on the adhesion between the knot and the handle after one year or two of usage, due to the high content of oils inside this kind of wood.

Is this a fantasy? Could you tell me about your long term experience using handles made of this beautiful wood?

Olive wood is hard to get stuff to adhere to, for example it doesn't take paint, stain or varnish, which is why you always see olive wood natural.

This could be very possible, Olive wood is very oily! I have not had any problems with my pens, but have heard so from others.

could just reglue the knot if it comes loose.
