old type question

Hi,

I just won this on the bay, and looking at the pic, it the colour looks consistant across the whole razor.

It it likely to be Gold plated? Doesnt look like tarnished nickel......

Did they come gold plated? or is it just heavilly brassed?

Yes they came gold plated. It is likely that most of the gold has worn away, leaving brass.

i guess I'll know once it gets here. I asked the guy to fill up the extra space in the flat rate box with VDH, so I should be set for a while!

Also, it looks like there is a Rolls Razor blade with guard in the right compartment.

I soaked it for an hour in a 50:50 clr/water solution.
Scrubbing brush (soft nail brush)
Polish with mothers mag wheel polish.

The only other thing I did was epoxy the handle back together....
