Old time Bay Rums?

I am looking for the equivellant in a Bay Rum to what Dickenson's is to witch hazel. I just want something that will smell and perform much like the Bay Rum's from long ago. I'm not looking for anything that may be scented or additive laden. I am a noob to Bay Rum's but I'd like something that would have been used by my grandfather or great-grandfather back in the day.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Just a thought: Domenica bay rum is as close to "pure" bay rum as I've ever used, and it's made in the Carribean, where both the bay tree and rum originate. At about $17/10 oz bottle, it's also a very good value. Like many bay rums, though, its heavenly scent is pretty fleeting.

Superior 70 is great and extremely cheap if you can find it in a brick-and-mortar store: 11.8 ounces for around $2. At that price it is you can't pass it up if you are interested bay rums.

Superior 70 gives me a headache and isn't worth the $2.50 Walgreens charges IMO. All I get from it is cloves. Stephan's Bay Rum has virtually no clove scent and at the end of the day I can still barely smell it on me. I don't know how classic it is because I don't remember my former life as a pirate, but I'm a fan. I still haven't tried Pinaud but a Walgreens near me has it so I'll probably stop by and give it a sniff but I hear it is even more clove-y than Superior 70. I've heard Masters is pretty much pure Bay oil so you might want to look at that too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Once again, I am looking for something that is close to or exactly what would have been used years ago. I appreciate the suggestions, but please keep them to classic old time BRs in type and smell.
Many thanks to all!

I would say Superior 70 is close to what you're looking for, it's pretty much just bay oil mixed with alcohol. That's all I smell anyway with mine, I don't find it has any of the clove smell Clubman has.

Birmingham? If you're near the Walgreens at Green Springs & West Valley (?), their web site says they have Superior 70 in stock. It's not kept in the shaving area. At my Walgreens it's kept on a bottom shelf along the back wall, around the corner from the other shave stuff. I can't remember what it's near. Ogallala and Captain's Choice are my other favorite bay rum aftershaves.

Superior 70 was probably available in your grandfather's time. According to Wikipedia: "There were several rum producers in Arecibo by the beginning of the 20th century. Most of them merged their distillery operations into a single entity, the Puerto Rico Distilling Co., which was formally incorporated on February 2, 1911. The new company eventually became the principal supplier of partially refined or final product to rum aging, blending and bottling companies in Mayagüez and Bayamón. During Prohibition the company turned into producing denaturalized alcohol, bay rum (up to 265 different brands of bay rum were eventually produced at the main distilling plant, including the best-selling Alcoholado Superior 70 and Alcoholado Santa Claus) and other industrial products."
