Old Spice Cream?

I could not find a thread about the current Old Spice Cream from India?

Who has used it? Tell us about it?

Thanks,

Bob

Are you talking about this?

Here's a review, and here. And here's one of the lime version. Doing a quick search, a discussion pops up every couple of months or so.

I'm not going to wade into the "authentic" vs. "modern" scent Old Spice debate, but I liked it. Not the best cream out there, but definitely nice. I think why its not used more is because of availability. Its only a 70g tube and paying $9-$10 (the going rate for vendors) is pretty inefficient. But you might have a decent chance of finding it in an Indian grocery store.

Thanks! I appreciate the links to the reviews.

You can also get them for +/- $6 shipped from India for the large 70 gm. tube....less if you order more. It does take a month to arrive though.

I got a tube of the original scent with my last order from WCS. I use it with my little bottle of Old Spice AS on Old Spice Mondays.
The scent is enjoyable, but I don't find the performance to be on par with Speick of Art of Shaving (I'm not really a cream guy so I don't have much else to compare it to).

I love the scent. Brings me back to my first shaves back in the 60's. I would describe the performance as ok, but not great. Lather seems to dry on my face a little quicker than others, and protection is a little weaker. IIRC I got three 70g tubes for about $13 from an e-bay seller in India.

If you have any Indian markets near you check there. I'm able to get the lime cream from a local store for $3.99 a tube.

It has now been 36 days since I ordered my first tube from India. They say 14-20 days to deliver. How long has it taken some of you in the USA who have ordered OS from India.

I should have just ordered from WCS. $3.80 shipped versus $9.00+shipping is not too big a difference I guess. I don't mind the time as much as the possibility of not getting it at all.

FROM INDIA: I imagine you ordered from http://www.desistores.net ,so it is possible the delay is with our customs, although 30 days is average delivery. If you order 1 , 2 , or 3 tubes the shipping is higher,so it pays to stock up and get 6 to 8 tubes. They also have blades,Yardley talc and Contour landfill razors for traveling...I have ordered from them 4 times over the last few years, and never had any real problem. They sent me a tube once that was a year past the expiration date, which was still good for many years to come actually, but I mentioned it to them in an email and they sent me a fresh tube. They ship products wrapped in a very strong mummy gauze,so the condition of the orders has always been great.Keep in mind,Palmolive cream does not always show up if you enter "shave cream" on their page, but if you enter "Palmolive" it will...You kind of have to play around with their search bar....Old Spice may be discontinued, get some if you can !

Used Old Spice Cream today for the first time as it was given by my nephew as a gift. It was ok. The scent was nice. It was a little dry on my skin and not much cushion. I was pleased this was the Shulton version and not the P&G one. Will use for the occasional shave but probably won't reorder when I run out. Of course, YMMV.

I personally don’t like the lime scent but I do like the original scent. I purchased the tubes from a local Indian grocery store. The Old Spice brings back a lot of memories from college days where I had to share one huge bathroom with about 40 other guys. On a date night it was not always easy to get to a sink. Old Spice in a mug was about all we could afford. Happy shaving. David

I got my refund from the Bay today. 42 days, no Old Spice Cream or response from the seller. Getting ready to order from WCS. I still want to try it. I was raised with Old Spice and am a 3rd generation user of the aftershave.

I hope it's not the same seller I bought from. I ordered a tube from India thanks to this forum. Looking forward to try it.

I hope so too. I should have posted this before. This is the store: nkstore13. She has just disappeared and now has MANY bad reviews. I wouldn't let one bad apple spoil it for anyone. It seems most folks receive their orders in about 3 weeks. Our Customs is part if the delay too.

I am also going to check the Indian groceries next time I go to the "Big City".

It's not the seller i bought from. I paid $5,99 including shipping for 70g sent to Norway. It is the cheapest cream I've bought so far.
I received a tracking number just a few hours after I paid.

I added a touch of KMF unscented, and the results were much better.

Alone its not that great of a shave cream, but has that awesome classic OS scent. Add a bit of an unscented cream and it doesn't dry out as quickly.

That said, I won't be reordering it. I will get by with the OS scent from the AS.

I got a $5 dollar 70g tube of the lime from a large auction site and I quite enjoy it, but the ingredients may need scrutiny by the sensitive.

Boric acid? I use that around the house to keep ants out!!!

I'll stick with OS AS...
