Old Dublin and the question

Purchased some Peterson Old Dublin last night, as everyone here seems wild about latakia blends and my interest was piqued (no, Frogmorton was not available). Upon opening the canister, I discovered the smoky scent that apparently is attributable to latakia. This scent was neither good nor bad, just present. After loading and lighting the bowl, I found the tobacco to be a bit sour at first, moving toward a mellow slightly sweet flavor and then to a very smoky flavor at the end (of course some of that had to do with the ash in the bowl I guess). It was good, but did not knock my socks off.
I'm pretty new to the pipe, and have only really smoked a blend from a local tobacco shop. I think it is primarily a mixture of Virginias, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's good but a bit boring. Here's what I am looking for: something a bit on the sweeter side, but not flavored. So, what variety of tobacco/blend should I be looking to find? For that matter, the guy at the tobacco shop told me that I could return the Old Dublin and exchange it for another Peterson if I wasn't crazy about it (something I need at least another bowl to decide). If I do that, is there a Peterson I should try? Thanks in advance.

I am in love with Boswell's tobacco blends, its a family owned pipe shop/pipe maker in Chambersburg PA, i've been dealing with them for about a year year and a half, and one day i called them needed more tobacco, and my mind blanked on the name of the blend. with our even looking up my order history she remembered what i ordered. Any way, i have a few tobaccos in my rotation from them, i have Sweet tea (yes it does resemble the flavour of sweet tea) no bit delight an chocolate blend with no tongue bite, and my absolute fav is Countryside, its a mild english blend so all natural flavors. he in my opinion is well priced, but give them a call, they do have a website, but they like to do business old school, actualy talking to the customer, give them a call and ask them for some recomendations, they should point u in the right direction
if u have questions, u can always ask me i'll see what i can help with!
