Oiling a Gillette SS

I know this has probably been beaten to death, but for those of you who use mineral oil on your Super Speeds (and equivalent), what is the process of application, frequency, etc?

I just put mineral oil on a paper towel or other cloth and wipe it down. I don't have any standard I go by, as long as it gets a light coat. Once every few months is what I do.

the way i go about this is dipping a toothpick in the oil, then let it drip into the mechanics i.e. the door slide and the twist knob
