What's new

Oh my lanta! Super Adjustable!

I traded for a birthyear (1982) super adjustable and let me say....FREAKING WOW!!! That shaver is what every other adjustable/razor aspires to be on my face. Mind you....I've had NO luck with other adjustables, especially the dadgum Merkur line. Tried two of those...no good. I don't know why but I think my face just doesn't like the heads of Merkur anything. My first DE was a Merkur classic and that was fine for about....a year, but once I found out Gillettes shaved my face better, I was hooked. Those of you in the Gillete world do yourself a favor, TRY an adjustable....slim, fatboy, super....it's worth the try. Promise. Thanks TW!

i was born in 1984. if i were to get a birth year razor, i suppose i'd need to get a black super adjustable, date code E according to my research. is that even available?

See, I haven't found out the dating for supers adjs in the 80s. The only consensus I've found is C is for the 82 year. The Wiki didn't have the years for all of them. I THINK....but don't quote me on this....they stopped producing DEs completely in 1987. Still, ask around....I'm foggy on the details.

The Super Adjustable gives great shaves!!

I was at a local huge antique mall the other day, and found a cased Super Adjustable for $7.50. I didn't need it, but it looked in pristine shape, so I wasn't going to pass it up. I love the black anodized handle.

I previously have shaved with a Gillette Slim, and briefly a Fatboy. The Slim did a great job, but was not one of my favorite razors. I actually preferred the Slim over the Fatboy. I eventually sold both, as at the time my favorite razor was a Muhle R89.

So I took the Super Adjustable (I think it's a 1969) for a spin the last few days, and it has given me the smoothest shaves of any DE I have tried!! Just a superb razor all around!!
