Number Four Became Such A Boar

Here is brush number four which became such a boar.

I took the 26 mm maple handle and increased the hole to accept an Omega 27 mm boar (from TGN) with the cap bringing the hole size to 31 mm. Applied a thin layer of cherry stain and protected the entire wood surface with Minwax® Polycrylic®. Then a plastic decorative pendant was epoxied on as a base and here are the results.

I have one boar in my rotation which is inexpensive Chinese Shaving Factory XS boar which I have enjoyed. At this point this will be another boar to break in and I will provide results after the break in.

NICE!!! I'm loving the black rings on the top and bottom of the brush! They look like they belong there, especially with the brown tone of the brush.

Stellar! Great knot selection and placement for each brush. I especially like the unbanded boar. I wish we could get some blonde boars with just a plug and no cup. The black cup and base look great on yours!

EDIT: Just saw the creative base for the stout handle! Nice!

Well, I was able to take it around the block today and it worked out wonderfully. It eats a little more product than my smaller boar but it does an excellent job of lathering the head and face.

Well I went with this again to continue to break in the bristles.
It is breaking in well as you can see the tips separating.
It face lathers well and provides good solid backbone.

These cherry wood stained spalted maple handles appeal to me the best of 5 handles and brushes. I would break down and use a boar brush, if it looked like that one.
