I have often found that razors with the most wear are usually excellent shavers. My theory is that because of their excellent shave capabilities they are honed beyond what would be a "normal" acceptable range because the owner just can't give up on such a fantastic razor.

No beauty contest winner, for sure, but I bet that razor gives a top notch shave.
