What's new

Now that's better

After my post of a few days ago about the hack job I seemed to be doing to my face, I decided to do my straight again today.

I've noticed since I've been using the straight and posting my progress, I've received great support and advice from a few of our seasoned straight users. Several of you have posted advice every time I've reported in on what's going on. For that I'm extremely grateful, the advice has been a great help.

Some great advice I received last time from some of you was not to put that blade on my face unless it was moving. With my DE I was able to place the razor and then so the stroke. Just that advice about keeping the blade moving did wonders with the shave today. Such a simple thing that I was overlooking. I realize now that when I'd try to set the blade before the stroke I'd either cut myself setting the blade or cut on the stroke. Well today's shave went great, I just kept that blade moving. I got a few weepers, but no cuts, which for me shows progress. I've got a ways to go for sure, but I'll keep at it. Thanks to those who take the time to keep me moving along, I'm still psyched. :thumbup1:

Regards,

Paul

Next tip!

Weepers mean too much pressure and/or too steep an angle. A too-steep angle can sucker you in to too much pressure so keeping the angle as low as possible while still cutting the whiskers can help prevent weepers. Of course also pay attention to pressure.
