NOS Gillette Bleue Extra - Imbued w/ magical properties?

I know there has already been a lot of discussion about these blades, but I wasn't expecting just how good they would shave. Granted I've only shaved with them once now, but what a smooth and close shave. Usually I experience a little bit of pull going ATG under the jawline, but the GBE gave none with my slant bar and TOBS avocado. Zero aftershave burn. Possibly my best DE shave to date.

I thought the mineral oil mustiness was tolerable. Possibly the residual oil helps blade performance?

They're excellent. I'm glad I have a large supply. I'm also glad that there is still a bunch of them available, for others.

I only have 975 left myself! That pallet of blades over there in the UK must be getting smaller and smaller....

Just ordered 200 and I've never even tried them yet... At my current pace I'll have enough blades to last my life by the end of this year!

Are these blades no longer in production? If so, where are you getting them?

Are they all packed into that metal container and slathered with mineral oil? If so, why?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I bought 100, and was unimpressed. Maybe it was just me. I get the same (if not better) shave from these, as I do from a Red Personna. Plus, I dont have to worry about those running out any time soon.

People have likened these to the famed Gillette "Swedes". The GBEs are outstanding and I have 1400 in the wing waiting to go.

There is an eBay seller based in the UK that sells these in 100 and 2000 quantities. Pretty reasonable shipping to the U.S. and I got my case of 2000 shipped in TWO days.

You would never guess that these blades are maybe 10+ years old.

On my second GBE blade, this week loaded in the Gillette Diplomat. Smooth and close shave #3 with this blade this morning. The first shave with the GBE is silky smooth and you don't get that harshness that some blades exhibit on the first shave. And I really like the old style blade dispensers, no need to deal with paper wrappers and messy glue spots.

Are these anything like the Gillette Blue blades that were actually a dark blue colour? I have a few of these, tried one, and it has probably been the best blade/shave I have had so far, across all 3 shaves. I was kicking myself after I tossed this blade as per my usual 3 shaves and toss rule... I should have seen how far it would go.

These are the Gillette Bleue Extra blades...

The ones referred to in this thread are NOS versions of these blades and not the current production ones using cardboard boxes, which are pretty decent as well.

Yes I know that, just wondering if there are any similarities between the bleue and blue ones besides the name. Like maybe these bleue ones are just stainless versions of the blue carbon ones?
