Norton 1K = slow?

Just wondering how the Norton 1K stacks up to other hones in this grit for setting a bevel? I was working on a razor yesterday, a Klas Tornblom, and it seemed like it took forever to get the bevel established.

I've done a few others that took longer than I would have thought.

I don't have a Norton 1K, but I imagine it works faster if you allow a slurry to build up, like their other waterstones.

I don't recall if it was slow or not, but I didn't like the way it scratched up my blade when I had one.

It is lower grit than 1k and it is very fast compared to my 1k chosera
