Nice Scotch For Gift

Looking for a nice Scotch to give as a gift for my best friend. I use to be a Blue Label fan but have not drank in many, many years so I've been out of the loop in this arena.

I want to spend around $100. Any suggestions and descriptions would very appreciated.

There are many, many, MANY wonderful choices in that price range.

My personal tastes would run to Aberlour a'bunadh or Macallan Cask Strength; roughly $70 and $80, respectively.

Johnny Walker Gold Label, unlike the Blue, is also within your gift range, about $85 now if memory serves, and a wonderfully drinkable blended Scotch.

But, as I may have mentioned, there are MANY wonderful Scotches in that price range. Others will soon chime in with their favorites, too!

Highland Park 18 year old - $80
JohnnieWalkerGold (1 Litre) - $80
Macallan 18 year old - $100

Btw, you don't have to spend $100 for a really nice scotch.

I really like the Glenfiddich 15 year old. About $40.

With that, you can get him a set of nosing glasses or a nice flask. Just an idea. Nevertheless, whatever you decide, it is a very generous gift.

You can't go wrong with Balvenie 15 yr. or McCallan 12yr. I believe any older is over the price mark your looking at. Always, the two in my liquor cabinet.
Cheers!

Glenlivet 18 year is in your price range. I drink the 12 year and it is real good. If I had to pick out a gift for myself it would be the 15 or 18 year old Glenlivet:thumbup:

The Macallan 12 year. Amazing bang for the buck. Since you say $100, you could buy 2! Macallan Cask Strength is also excellent.

I'm another fan of the Highland Park...and the 18 year is the best of 'em (even better than the 25 IMHO).

Get one for your friend, and one for yourself. If there's only one bottle left, get him...something else! :glare: :001_rolle
